Minutes of Executive Board Meeting May 29 at the Best Western Southcenter Hotel in Tukwila, Washington.
The newly elected Executive Board met at 4:05 p.m. on May 29, 2004 at the Southcenter Hotel, following the closing of the Northwest Region 1
Conference. Members present: Governor Ron Herbison, Lieutenant Governor Paul
McClintock, Secretary Maxine Alloway, Treasurer Raynola Blackshear.
Governor Ron Herbison called the meeting to order. The purpose of the meeting to discuss audit and appoint committees. Members of the
Bylaws Committee were named: Chair Paul McClintock, Kevin Connelly, and Barbara Pugh.
The Conference Committee Chair for hosting 2006 Conference in Spokane is Roberta Jackson with help from the Spokane Alyce Baker Chapter.
Membership Committee Chair is Paul McClintock. Duties are to write welcome letter to new members, recruit new members, and try to get
younger members. Ron Her-bison said he would alslo work on the younger members at colleges.
The Nominating Committee appointments were postponed.
New Business:
Charles Johnson's Registration was paid by Region 1, because he was invited to speak. Mary Randolph made the decision. Paul McClintock
moved we ratify the decision made by former Governor Mary Randolph to pay the registration of official guest Charles Johnson and reimburse
the $35.00 to Mary Randolph, motion seconded and adopted.
Paul McClintock moved we add Robert Conser's name to the Bylaws Committee, motion seconded and adopted by consensus.
Region 1 meetings every two years, but Chapters could have workshops over the two year span with Educational focus and invite the public.
Perhaps workshops could be in areas where we do not have a Chapter to get interest of local people. Some AIP materials are offered for free
from Headquarters for public service groups and meetings. Because many organizations are needing materials to start with new officers in the
fall, this is a good time to have a workshop for public service groups.
Ron Herbison will work on the Nugget Newsletter and he will be appointing a special committee for the newsletter. The Audit will be
postponed.
